As a land grant school tech has to maintain a certain percent of their student body be from Virginia (I believe it’s about 60%) It’s 70 percent in state 🤝. I got waitlisted 3 years ago and still got accepted. The over enrolling thing hasn’t changed the waitlist acceptance as much as people think.Waitlist. VA Tech sucks for any of us in Northern Virginia/Langley/McLean. With the exception of 2, no white males are getting in- and not talking Engineering either - other colleges. Kill yourself for 4 years, top 5% in test scores (not that they give a damn), solid AP classes and extracurricular stuff and we are being shut out for out of state money.
